ABOUT THE BRECKENRIDGE FINE ARTS CENTER

Since 1985, the Breckenridge Fine Arts Center has been a source of community pride for Breckenridge and the surrounding areas.  The Center is committed to furthering the arts and artistic environment through education by focusing on two main objectives:  to establish and maintain the finest in workshop facilities and instruction; and to provide high quality exhibits for the general public.

The diverse lectures, workshops, and exhibits appeal to a wide range of interests, thereby giving the artist in each of us a place to learn, to create, and to grow.

The Breckenridge Fine Arts Center invites visitors to share in its pursuit of artistic advancement.  Enjoy the facility and all it has to offer as we continue inspiring, educating, and recognizing the artists of today and tomorrow.

OUR DIRECTOR

SHALON TAYLOR WILSON

Shalon Taylor Wilson received a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Abilene Christian University. She earned a full scholarship for volleyball, and was an All-Conference Middle Blocker for the Lone Star Conference. She began her Master’s Degree work in Special Education and Mental Retardation Studies also at ACU, and was a Special Education Teacher at Stamford ISD and Breckenridge ISD.

Beginning in 2006, she became a stay-at-home mom to her two young daughters. During this time, she began teaching herself to oil paint. She has been represented by Beaudry Gallery in the downtown Dallas Design District, and currently has paintings hanging in Peru, France, Germany, Australia, and throughout the continental United States.

Shalon’s goal as Director of the Breckenridge Fine Arts Center is to bring various mediums of art to Breckenridge from all over the world. She is passionate about involving the local children in all the Center’s activities so as to foster their love of art, and to prepare the next generation to care for our precious gift of the BFAC.
