Tracy Bankson-Smith, Marian Kalka, Mark, Kent, and Mike Moody comprise the Lightcatchers. The name refers to the notion that photography, at its essence, is about capturing light. The lens, aperture, and sensor (or film) conspire to manipulate light so that an image might be formed and preserved.
The Lightcatchers got together simply on the shared interest in photography. Each of us has their own particular idea of what subject matter is worthy of taking the time to photograph, edit, and have printed.

Steve Miller is a Texas-based artist whose work spans a lifetime of visual storytelling — from commercial illustration, 3D modeling, and museum exhibits to hundreds of fine art paintings and drawings showcased in art galleries across the state, including notable Breckenridge art galleries. Born in Texas and raised across the American South and Appalachian Mountains, Steve paints in oils, casein, pastels, and charcoal, working both plein air and in the studio. His subjects range from the humid, moss-draped landscapes of the Deep South to the vast, open skies of West Texas, with a focus on how light and shadow shape a face, a hillside, or a horizon to reveal beauty, depth, and sometimes mystery. A recipient of local and national awards in multiple mediums, Steve approaches each painting as a record of a journey that tells smaller, human-scaled stories of the people, places, and creation he encounters along the way. He often exhibits his work in the Breckenridge art gallery, emphasizing his foundational goal as an artist: to render the beauty of the incredible creation around us, a world that was created by an awesome God.
