Each class will include gallery walks, art exploration, and hands-on projects inspired by the masters—including artists such as Henri Rousseau and James McNeill Whistler.

Young artists will learn to slow down, really look at art, discover the techniques behind the paintings, and then make those ideas their own.

Strengthen the foundation of your paintings in this one-day workshop designed for artists with some painting experience.
Working with landscape subjects, you'll learn how to improve your:
Composition, Value & Color
The workshop begins with quick grayscale studies to simplify complex scenes before moving into a small painting that applies these concepts. These essential skills can be used in landscapes and many other painting subjects.
Class size: Limited to approximately 15 artists
(minimum enrollment required)
What to Bring
Suggested Paint Colors:
Ultramarine Blue or Cobalt Blue, Alizarin Crimson, Cadmium Yellow Light or Cadmium Lemon, and Titanium White. Steve also recommends Gamblin Portland Grey Light, Medium, and Deep if you have them.
Brushes: Larger bristle brushes, approximately 3/8"–1/2" wide. Smaller brushes may be useful if time permits.
Provided: Steve will provide grayscale markers and small paper pads for the value studies.

Russell will introduce you to the basics of working with metal as you shape, texture, and stamp your own pieces—and you'll leave with something YOU made and can actually wear.
Your class fee includes all materials!
And yes—you take your finished pieces home with you.
No experience necessary! Whether you're completely new to jewelry making or already love working with your hands, Russell will guide you through the process.
