Strengthen the foundation of your paintings in this one-day workshop designed for artists with some painting experience.

Working with landscape subjects, you'll learn how to improve your:

Composition, Value & Color 

The workshop begins with quick grayscale studies to simplify complex scenes before moving into a small painting that applies these concepts. These essential skills can be used in landscapes and many other painting subjects.

 Class size: Limited to approximately 15 artists 

(minimum enrollment required)

What to Bring

• A 9" × 12" canvas or panel (no larger) 
• Your usual painting supplies, brushes, and paper towels 
• A tabletop or plein air easel 
• A simple landscape reference photo with a foreground, middle ground, and background 
• A sack lunch 

Suggested Paint Colors:
Ultramarine Blue or Cobalt Blue, Alizarin Crimson, Cadmium Yellow Light or Cadmium Lemon, and Titanium White. Steve also recommends Gamblin Portland Grey Light, Medium, and Deep if you have them.

Brushes: Larger bristle brushes, approximately 3/8"–1/2" wide. Smaller brushes may be useful if time permits.

Provided: Steve will provide grayscale markers and small paper pads for the value studies.

Join Russell Marley of E.S. Marley Jewelry for a hands-on jewelry-making workshop at the Breckenridge Fine Arts Center!

Russell will introduce you to the basics of working with metal as you shape, texture, and stamp your own pieces—and you'll leave with something YOU made and can actually wear.

Your class fee includes all materials!

And yes—you take your finished pieces home with you.

No experience necessary! Whether you're completely new to jewelry making or already love working with your hands, Russell will guide you through the process.

Get your hands in the clay every Monday evening! Clay Club is open to all skill levels — all supplies included, just show up. Pay only for the nights you come.
